DJANGO BATES Belovèd – Django Bates/piano, Petter Eldh/double bass, Peter Bruun/drums
British pianist Django Bates returns to ECM with one of his very finest constellations, the trio Belovèd, with Swedish bassist Petter Eldh and Danish drummer Peter Bruun, and an aptly named album, The Study of Touch. All three musicians are highly individual players, subtly challenging the conventions of the jazz piano trio.

PHILIPP GROPPER`S PHILM  - Philipp Gropper/saxophone, Elias Stemeseder/piano, Robert Landferman/bass, Oliver Steidle/drums
The opposite of fake goes by the name of PHILM. The Berlin quartet (sax, p, dr, bass) is bang on trend. No irony, no references, no intellectual theatrics, just sound and technique. The quartet shows little interest in postmodernism. They prefer to shine as a group rather than a collection of individuals. Instead of concentrating on association and deconstruction, they focus on creativity and sharing. No irony, no references, no intellectual theatrics, just sound and technique. (Sandra Hupfauf)

HENRI TEXIER SAND WOMAN, Henri Texier/bass, Gautier Garrigue/drums, Manu Codjia/guitar, Sébastien Texier/saxophones, clarinette, Vincent Lé Quang/saxophone

MARC RIBOT SOLO feat. Marc Ribot/guitar
Enigmatic guitarist Marc Ribot has released 6 very diverse solo guitar albums: (including John Zorn’s Book of Heads, Plays the Works of Frantz Casseus, Saints, Don’t Blame Me, Exercises in Futility) and 2010's, Silent Movies (Pi Recordings) has been described as a "down-in-mouth-near master piece" by the Village Voice and has landed on several Best of 2010 lists including the LA Times and critical praise across the board. His live solo performances are unpredictable events which may draw on all of these or none, creating a sonic matrix of memory, free improvisation, zeitgeist, extra-terrestrial radio signals, and much more...always leaving the listener on the edge of their seats.
FRANÇOIS COUTURIER - TARKOVSKY QUARTET 'NUIT BLANCHE', François Couturier/piano, Anja Lechner/cello, Jean-Marc Larché/soprano saxophone, Jean-Louis Matinier/accordion.
For leader and pianist François Couturier the “silence and slowness of Tarkovsky” are closely related to an “ECM aesthetic” further developed on the group’s third album Nuit blanche, produced by Manfred Eicher in Lugano in April 2016. Pieces variously composed by François Couturier, or created in the moment by Couturier, cellist Anja Lecher, saxophonist Jean-Marc Larché and accordionist Jean-Louis Matinier,

RALPH TOWNER SOLO – Ralph Towner/guitar, piano
Musical innovation is no easy feat. It not only requires an innate talent, but also a devotion to the art that is not blinded by the commercial glare of the popular culture. Ralph Towner is such an innovator on the modern musical landscape, his ideas ever fresh, though they span a career of more than thirty years.
