One of the ultimate New York City party bands, Marc Ribot & Los Cubanos Postizos (aka "The Prosthetic Cubans) became a must see attraction in the late 1990s, its feverishlycookingshows buildaround arrangements of Cuban bandleader Arsenio Rodriguez - innovator of the son montuno. Recently revived and now going by the the simplyfied name of Marc Ribot & Los Postizos opens the format to incorporate musical influences from across the Americas but with the same latin based fervor. In this special evening, Marc Ribot presents Los Postizos billed along with the hard-groove of roots-rock cumbia outfit La Cumiamba eNeYe. Calvin Weston, both primetime alumni and Philadelphia natives, adding guitarist Bern Nix and keyboardist Anthony Coleman to do the job. And the name? "Ever see that movie with Paul Newman?" Ribot asks: "It`s about these rich young lawyers from Philly. We hat a goosaugh about that. You should hear our version of "Fly Robin Fly"
